The Color Is Off is an existential record about questioning life as you move through it. Across five songs, those questions take different forms. “Life Distraction” deals with feeling out of step with the people and world around you, and learning to move forward even when you don’t fully understand where you fit.

“Abundance” turns that conflict inward, caught between the desire to grow and the patterns that keep pulling you back. “Moonrise” stands at the threshold between the life you know and the possibilities outside of it, while “Until I Get Old” questions the pressure to know exactly what you believe before you have had the time to form your own moral foundation.

The title track brings those ideas together in a fragmented and dreamlike way. Its final line, “you’ll do just fine,” leaves the record without a clean resolution, but with enough trust in yourself to get through whatever comes next.
